The Madding Crowd

What "art" and the "artworld" looks like from the perspective of "artists" from Sydney's Inner West's "art scene".

  • Stars Sky Trees Breeze is an exhibition of photographs of outdoor beds taken by Jagarth Dheerasekara at communities under the NT Intervention.  Curated by Djon Mundine at At The Vanishing Point - Contemporary Art, it is well worth the trip.  Great speech by Djon: 4 years and six hundred million dollars later and not a single new dwelling built, the only thing it has accomplished has been the stripping of civil liberties and rights from a people based on race (not exactly an innovation in policy).  I want to know: are we ever going to do anything for Aboriginal Australia that our children wont have to apologize for?
