The Madding Crowd

What "art" and the "artworld" looks like from the perspective of "artists" from Sydney's Inner West's "art scene".

  • This post is a bit out of order as it happened many days ago.  A few scraps of an opening night in Paddington at Kaleidoscope Gallery, a show called colour in which Georgie had a work.  We were the only artists who showed up and sat around drinking all the free booze and talking all the absolute crap we are so talented at talking.  After that, the party transplanted itself into the home of one Melanie E Khava where we drank champaignes and marveled at the sheer opulence and profusion of her incredibly painstaking precise and careful work.  On the table I think you must be looking at several thousand hours of intensely concentrated attention and work.  It was quite a treat to see it in her yellow kitchen.  White walls are for sissies.
